Setting Up the “Department Oversight” Bot

“Department Oversight” is the personnel management bot for ER:LC Russia. It handles all faction leadership routines: work hour tracking, hiring and dismissals, disciplinary actions, leave requests, tickets, announcements, and moderation. The entire bot is configured directly from Discord — no web panels or configuration files needed. Everything is done with a single command:
The command opens an interactive panel with 13 sections, each described in detail in the guides below.

Who Can Configure the Bot?

Only users holding a role configured under “Access Permissions” can configure the bot. If you are starting fresh on a server, begin with this section to grant yourself access.
Before initial setup, the /configure command is available to server administrators. As soon as you assign “Config Roles”, only those roles will have access — remember to include your own role in the list.

What Modules Are Included?

Where to Start? First-Time Setup Sequence

We recommend setting up the bot in the following order:
1

Interface Language

Select the server language — Russian or English.
2

Access Permissions

Grant config roles and management roles so your leadership team can operate the bot.
3

Rank System

Create departments and ranks for your faction.
5

Log Channels

Designate where to send audit logs of administration actions.
6

Shifts, Leaves, and Reduced Activity

7

Remaining Modules

Enable modules as needed for your server: tickets, forms, announcements, modcalls, global ban.

Useful Tips

  • Almost every module can simply be toggled on or off — unused features will not interfere.
  • All administration actions are automatically logged in designated log channels.
  • The /configure panel only responds to the user who opened it and automatically closes after 15 minutes of inactivity.
  • If needed, data can be safely reset via /server manage.
