# Global Ban

# Setting Up Global Ban

## What is This?

A synchronized blacklist system across community partner servers. The command

```
/global-ban @user
```

bans an offender **simultaneously across all connected servers**, rather than just the local server. Correspondingly, `/global-unban` lifts the ban network-wide.

The logs channel receives a comprehensive status report: banner, target, reason, and individual server status indicators.

## How to Configure

1. Open `/configure` → navigate to the **“Global Ban”** page.
2. Enable the module: set status menu to **“Enabled”**.
3. In **“Allowed Roles”**, select global ban team roles (up to 25) — only these can issue or revoke global bans.
4. Click **“Configure Servers”** → **“Add Server”** and input the **Guild ID** in the modal.

### Server Owner Confirmation

To prevent unauthorized server additions:

1. The target server owner receives a direct message from the bot titled “Server Link Request”.
2. The owner clicks **“Link”** or **“Decline”**.
3. Until confirmed, the server is listed as “Pending”; once approved, it is fully synchronized.

Remove servers from the network via **“Remove Server”**. Up to **25 servers** can be connected.

## Who Can Execute Global Bans

The command works **strictly on the main hub server**. On connected client servers, it is blocked for all users — including their respective server owners: global bans are managed centrally.

On the primary hub server, permissions are as follows:

* **Hub Server Owner** — always authorized;
* **Administrators** — until custom roles are assigned;
* Users with roles in **“Allowed Roles”** — once configured, they gain exclusive access, overriding Discord administrator permissions without that role.

  Global ban is a serious disciplinary measure. Ensure the violation warrants total exclusion across all project servers before issuing: lifting a global ban requires a full network-wide unban procedure.
